Friday 1 May is National Office Professionals Day
It is an occasion that recognises the very important role played by the administrative professional in today’s business world.  AIOP National President Christine Stewart said, “The day in the life of an office professional is varied from moment to moment. While organisation is key to their success, their flexibility and ability to handle the unexpected make them valuable to any business.
“I wish all AIOP members, indeed all office professionals, a happy day.”

AIOP Events and COVID-19 (Coronavirus )

As the situation regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic unfolds, please be assured the health and safety of all AIOP members is foremost in our minds and of great importance.

Currently, the risk of transmission in Australia remains low, but the situation is still evolving. At this stage, AIOP Divisions are planning to continue going ahead with scheduled events.

We are constantly monitoring on a Division-by-Division (State-by-State) basis the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic, and will keep you informed of any changes that may arise.   Every Division/State is of course different and AIOP will be guided by their local State/Territory Department of Health advice. At this time, it is business as usual until such time as the Federal Government advises us differently.

We strongly encourage all AIOP members and supporters to practice good hygiene to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 (Coronavirus). You should:

  • frequently wash your hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, and using an alcohol-based hand gel;
  • refrain from touching mouth and nose;
  • if coughing or sneezing, cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or flexed elbow – dispose of the tissue immediately after use and perform hand hygiene;
  • avoid close contact with anyone if you, or they, have cold or flu-like symptoms (maintain a distance of at least 1 metre).

Importantly, do not go to work if you are not feeling well.

The World Health Organization has valuable information on COVID-19 safety, and various useful resources from the Australian Government Department of Health. Clink on the link.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at if you wish to discuss this matter further.
